The Intelligent IaC Difference

2min

See the below table for an explanation of "Intelligent IaC" and how it differs from ClickOps and regular Terraform IaC. AutoCloud uses specialized internal tags under the hood that track resources which were created in the AutoCloud platform. Because AutoCloud knows the initial configuration state of any given cloud resource, it can track resources against their initial state and let users know of any relevant changes they might care about in relation to cost, security, and compliance.

At AutoCloud, we call the process of ensuring that a resource is always in alignment with its current IaC representation, "Current State Alignment". AutoCloud's Current State Alignment workflows allow the full promise of IaC to be realized by giving developers the tools necessary to create IaC for 100% of required cloud resources. On top of the IaC itself, AutoCloud provides tools for complete CloudOps both from the Day 1 IaC side of things and then on an ongoing Day 2 basis for live cloud resources. Below is a diagram of how this process works at a high level.
